Tractive is an useful pet tracking device for dogs and cats. It is a stable and safe GPS collar for dogs and cats.

If you have a dog or a cat you know the fear of losing them. However, there comes a small device to be attached to the collar from the world of technology. It is equipped with a GPS locator that allows you to see and remotely, where is your friend. It really works. But the cost is not low.

There is always the fear: the dog that runs away during a walk or cat that sneaks out the window. What is certain is that with some changes you can escape the danger. And this is where the world of technology offers help. Tractive is a GPS locator. You can attach it to the collar of your for four-legged friend and remotely control your friend. We tried to figure out if it was worth buying or not: pros and cons certainly no shortage.
Pro 
We attached the tracker to the collar to a dog, to evaluate the merits:
• It is stable and safe. During our tests it was never released from the collar, even as the dog played and ran.
• Size and weight are contained, even if for cats may be too large.
• It seems not to be damaged by the Water. Our friend had fun in puddles and walked in the rain, but the Tractive not seem to have ruined.
• The application is clear and easy to use.
• You can enter a safety zone. If it is exceeded you are notified via text message or email.
• You can remotely turn on a LED light and activate a sound to find the animal in the dark or in adverse conditions.
Against 
Some features need to be improved:
• Activate the tracker at the beginning is cumbersome.
• It needs a bit of space on your smartphone.
• Before it is active you must wait. We turned it on and, in some tests, after 10 minutes had not yet detected signals. So it is good to remember to turn it on in advance.
• The location is not always precise. In some cases non-existent track trajectories, but usually is accurate up to 20 m.
• The battery, in normal mode, lasts 2 or 3 days, but with the LIVE-Tracking function will download quickly saw that updates the location every two seconds.
How much? 
The price is not indifferent. You can buy the Tractive on Amazon, at 77.50 euros. Is it really useful? 
At worst (the dog or the cat ran away), it is certainly useful, although a little expensive. It is very important, however, always be careful and accurate with our friends and, above all, remember that the law provides the microchip mandatory for dogs and optional for cats: only through the chip can be traced back safely to the owner. Being a simple, harmless and useful process for the animal identification, we recommend it.
